A week ago, my husband and I celebrated the beginning of my 9th month of pregnancy with a blissful maternity session at Cape Henlopen, located in our hometown of Lewes, DE.

These images are everything to me. They are a testimony to the goodness and faithfulness of God, and a reminder that He makes all things beautiful in its time. My husband and I have walked through so much to get here, to this very moment. My body has experienced life, loss, the rollercoaster of fertility drugs and shots, hormone pills, stress and uncertainty, and still it stands here, holding our precious child. I look at myself in these images and I see someone so very different than the person I was in my twenties. I see a strong and resilient woman who has pursued her dreams with dedication, who had the courage to hope when there wasn’t much hope, and who believed her heavenly father when He said He causes everything to work together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.

The Lord opened the doors for our daughter to enter into this world, and I already love her fiercely. My prayer for her is that every single day she will know in the deepest part of her heart that she is unconditionally loved, beautifully created, and that God has a divine plan for her life.
