Ashley was a little girl in school when her daddy, a captain for the NYPD, rushed to be a first responder during 9/11. She had another family member who worked in one of the trade towers who was late to work on the morning of 9/11. By the grace of God, both of these men survived that day.

And although NYC has been a target for tragedy, it’s also a melting pot for miracles. It’s a place where anything can happen… even falling in love.

Ashley and Joris were drawn to each other pretty quickly.  Perhaps it was the sweetness and kindness of their souls, and the beautiful way they see life.

Ashley, studying to be a speech language pathologist, couldn’t stop thinking about the cute tennis player from the Netherlands that she met through friends. They soon began dating, and when Joris realized he never wanted to spend a day without Ashley, he wisked her off to Venice to ask her to marry him.

They both currently live in Manhattan and are just a few months away from saying I do at the gorgeous Park Chateau Estate and Gardens in East Brunswick, New Jersey.

We met in New York City for their engagement session. Central Park was full of cherry blossoms and fresh spring air: a perfect location for these two New Yorkers in love.
