Boal Mansion Greenery Wedding: Megan and Alex {Pennsylvania Wedding Photographer}
Megan and Alex’s wedding at the Boal Mansion in Boalsburg, Pennsylvania was refreshing and romantic, with an outdoor ceremony under large oak trees, and a tented reception filled with greenery, tall candles, and floor length table linens.
Megan’s style was minimalist, with clean geometric lines and organic bouquets and floral arrangements. As a full-time wedding planner herself, Megan was involved with every detail of her wedding, and enjoyed putting her personal touch into every detail of her outdoor wedding, including the neutral and slate color palette, the geometric invitation design, and the escort wall of gold terrariums.
“My family owns an event rental company (Best Event Rental), since I was a little girl I knew I wanted a tent wedding,” said Megan. “Once we decided on the Boal Mansion my mind started racing with location ideas for ceremony, cocktail hour, reception and pictures. When I envisioned our wedding I wanted it to be organic and minimal with unique details that were reflective of who we are as a couple…
My passion is creating unique elements and details for my clients so many of the pieces at our wedding were created by me. I loved the invitation design I created, it was simple yet bold and the mixture of shapes was my favorite part. My place cards took the most time, each tile was filed and created by hand and was completely worth it. Guests were greeted at cocktail hour with a, escort wall of gold terrariums which I made that were filled with air plants. I owe my Dad a huge thank you for creating the structure to help pull my vision together. I am so thankful for my family for helping me with all my projects the signage specifically, each wooden stand was created by my Dad, Sister and Brother-in-law and complimented my minimalist design perfectly. Overall the lighting under our tent was one of my favorite projects, we hand strung greenery from the tent top and I created geometric lanterns to hang over the dance floor with over sized Edison bulbs. It wasn’t until those details were in place that the tent actually felt like my wedding tent rather than another event set.”
Megan’s favorite part of her wedding day was the first look with Alex. “I tell my clients all the time ‘once you see him you’ll forget about everything else.’ I never fully understood that moment until I experienced it myself. As soon as he looked up everything stopped, any nerves, anxiety, stress just washed away and I became so excited to celebrate our day together with our closest friends and family.”
The back of a blue vintage volkswagon with giant balloons was a perfect place for the gift table (and photos of course). And each guest went home with an air plant.
It was a day filled with so much love and emotion.
Congratulations Megan and Alex!
