Manhattan drew them together; a setting for the opening act for their love story.

A mutual friend invited both Kelley and Nick to a concert in Astoria Park, which overlooks uptown Manhattan. There was an initial spark that led them to their first date at The Shady Lady, an Astoria tapas bar and restaurant. But there was nothing shady about Kelley, and Nick knew he couldn’t imagine life with anyone else by his side.

After two and a half years together living life in New York City, Nick to Kelley hiking to one of their favorite spots north of the city. Once they reached an overlook, Nick got down on one knee and asked Kelley to marry him. After she gave a definite yes, they both celebrated with a mountain view champagne toast.

We recreated the champagne toast during their New York City engagement session at Roosevelt Island. I was in love with Kelley’s blue print dress from Rent the Runway. And although it rained the majority of the day, it cleared up just in time for their romantic session against the New York City skyline.
