“Our story isn’t the usual love story, but it’s my favorite.” ~Katrina

Katrina and Mike’s love story isn’t the usual boy meets girl and immediately fall in love and live happily ever after kind of story. Their love story took time, and a little bit of Starbucks…

They started out as friends. Katrina moved to Hershey, PA for nursing school (to become and oncology nurse) and Mike was working for a Sports Performance Company in the same area. As always, Katrina was studying for her boards, and decided to study at Starbucks one evening instead of the library. Little did she know she would bump into Mike, who was always studying for his certification. Instead of studying, Katrina and Mike would chat about life. And soon it was their routine to meet at Starbucks to study and chat; that is, until Mike left Hershey for the University of Maryland to be a collegiate strength and conditioning coach (his dream job).

Time moved on, and on July 3, 2013, Mike returned to Hershey to celebrate his birthday on July 4. Katrina asked him to come over to her apartment before he went out to celebrate his birthday with his friends, since she worked the next day and wouldn’t be able to stay up late to celebrate with him. When he walked through her door, she realized how much she missed him. They ended up sitting on the couch and chatting past midnight. When Mike got up to leave Katrina wished him a happy birthday, and as they both went in for a hug, a kiss happened instead.

The evening of July 4, Katrina was working the night shift at the hospital, and Mike showed up and brought her Starbucks….just because. Her heart was his.

“In him, I not only found the love of my life, but my best friend,” said Katrina.

I loved meeting up with these two at the Hotel Hershey for their engagement session. Congratulations Katrina and Mike! Mwah!
