One of my most favorite Disney films is Sleeping Beauty.

And when I saw Kira in her wedding dress on the morning of her wedding day, I thought Aurora had come to life, to marry her Prince Philip. This sweet Briar Rose stole all our hearts with her kindness and joy. I was waiting for all the woodland creatures to come near her if she would have burst into song. And Philip, he not only looked exactly like a Disney prince, but he holds all the virtues of one: courageous, romantic, compassionate, strong, and chivalrous.

And their wedding day was better than a fairytale because it was real. Kira and Philip saw each other for the first time that day within the beautiful Longwood Gardens. The DuPont Country Club provided the romantic backdrop for an evening of dancing, toasting, and celebrating. One of my favorite moments of the day was when the salads were being brought in on food carts by the servers with the song “Be Our Guest” playing. We all felt as if we were in a Disney movie. Kira actually chose to have her wedding at the DuPont Country Club because the ballroom reminder her of the grand ballroom in Beauty and the Beast.

I loved all the soft tones that Kira chose for her wedding: blush, pink, ivory. Her wedding was the epitome of a Dyanna LaMora wedding. I will never grow tired of photographing weddings like Kira’s. Give me feminine colors, fashion, and romance and I’m one happy photographer.

But Kira and Philip’s wedding was so much more than just a beautiful day. It was a day of commitment. It was their faith that brought them together, and it will be their faith and their deep respectful love that will always keep them together.

So may you both love each other always, as you did “once upon a dream.”
