It was the day after Thanksgiving.

The warm light within the Baltimore Basilica was heavenly, and we were surrounded by angels. To look up at the celling artwork felt sacred. Perhaps that is why these divine images were painted on the ceilings of cathedrals, to help us earthly people look up, to have hope, to believe there is more.

Christine was flawless in her Allure wedding gown, as if she was born to wear this dress. On this day, she was the center of the universe and we all spun around her, admiring her beauty, her grace, and smile.

Flowers were delivered, champagne was poured, and Justin couldn’t take his eyes off his bride in white.

The sun had set and it was time for the ceremony. Christine walked down the lengthy, awe-inspiring aisle, holding on to the arms of her grandfather. And when she finally made it to the front, Justin was there to take her hand, as he will be for the rest of their lives, whether it’s to ask her to dance or to help her out of a car. Her hands will always be safe in his.

During the ceremony a tenor sang the most beautiful hymn. Although I can’t remember the name of the song, for a moment, as I was standing there with my camera, I was caught up in the beauty of life. A few tears fell from my eyes, and I was so thankful to be alive, to be hearing this man’s beautiful voice, underneath a painting of Jesus. In that moment, God took my breath away with His beauty, with his creation, with his promise.

After the ceremony, guests enjoyed drinks, dinner, and dancing at the Belvedere. Precious words were said, cake was served, and Christine and Justin experienced one of the most incredible days of their lives. It certainly was a day to be thankful for.
