This is a story about how two doctors fell in love.

Maura and Nik met during their International Medicine residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital. Nik attended the University of Pennsylvania and Maura attended the University of Maryland. At the end of medical school there is a process called “The Match” that places graduating medicine students into into their residency program. Maura and Nik were matched during orientation, and soon found out they were the perfect match in more ways than one.

After two years of dating, they were on ski trip to Vermont when Nik proposed and Maura happily said yes.

They are currently planning both a Hindu ceremony and a Catholic ceremony in Baltimore this December. I’m looking forward to the gathering of two different cultures to celebrate Maura and Nik’s beautiful love.
